SA Government Driver Training and Education Program
The South Australian Government Safe Driving Policy is supported by a comprehensive Driver Training and Education Program that has been specifically designed to promote and encourage safe, efficient use of vehicles in the workplace, and to take into consideration the impact on the environment.

Courses are available under the Program for both passenger vehicles (including hybrid vehicles) and light commercial vehicles (including four wheel drive vehicles with an unloaded weight of 3.5 tonnes or less).

Courses under the Program are available to all South Australian Government employees with a valid drivers license for the state of South Australia.

Transport Training Centre (TTC) is the only Fleet SA approved Driver Training and Education Service provider to the South Australian Government.

Booking and attending a course

Agencies wishing to book their employees on any of the courses available under the Driver Training and Education Program, can do so through the online booking form or by phoning the TTC on (08) 8243 4400.

Should your Agency have specific requirements in respect to driver training (e.g. tailored courses in content, or for persons with a disability), the TTC is happy to discuss the requirements with you and determine an appropriately structured course to meet your needs.

Important information for attendees

When attending a course under the program, employees are to provide a vehicle from their Agency which they use in their normal business activities (unless otherwise advised). Those employees attending a standard Defensive Driving course should only bring a sedan or station wagon, for use during the course. Vehicles such as Hybrid's (e.g. Toyota Prius) or Light Commercial's (e.g. 4WDs) should only be selected for their applicable courses as available under the Program.

Any vehicles to be utilised during a course, should have a full tank of fuel, be free from any cargo that could obstruct other course participants, and be in a clean condition both inside and out.
